Oak Hills Country Club opened in 1922 and was designed by A.W. Tillinghast. Several enhancements were made in 1983 by Jay Moorish. The course has several tight, tree-lined fairways that demand accurate tee shots in order to stay clear of the trees on the approach shots.
The greens are smooth and fast and in good condition. Holes #9 and #18 are par 3’s that require tee shots from elevated boxes over water to the greens, which are also elevated and protected by bunkers. Oak Hills Golf Club hosted the Texas Open from 1961 to 1966 and from 1977 to 1994. The club also hosted the Nabisco Championships of Golf in 1987 (currently known as the inaugural TOUR Championship), and has hosted the AT&T (formerly SBC) Champions Tournament since 2002. The 2010 Champions Tournament is being held at Oak Hills the last week of October.
